Another church day. Can’t believe that I have been here for a week and I only have four more to go. I am enjoying my time, but I also really want to be back in the presence of people I love and that love me back. I was thinking the other day how much touch can make a person feel good. Not just a hand shake or a pat on the back, but a real hug or an arm rested on the shoulders of another, or just holding hands. I miss those kinds of touches. I am a huggy type of person, and I miss that.
After two services, we came back home for lunch before we were off again. We had chunky mushroom soup. It tasted ok, but looking at it was very very very unappetizing. I kept thinking about the taste instead of what it looked like. It tasted real good, but I couldn’t finish my bowl. Just couldn’t.
Jeff had a model club meeting this afternoon. So after 1.5 hours of being home, we went back to church. Modelin is not one of my interests (like cars and planes and stuff) so I went to the mall. I bought some glue for a project I am conducting and guess how much it cost me? Yep, expensive. $12. For all of you who are reading this and living in the United States, be grateful that you live where you do, because things are so much cheaper over there.
For a moral booster, I bought a cappuccino and walked back to church, talking to God all the way.
I got to sing in the praise band tonight for worship. It was a ton of fun. I didn’t know the first two songs, but they weren’t hard to learn. I had a lady come up to me and invite me to do two day trips with her and her sisters. I have no idea what we will be doing, but whatever it is, it will be fun!
Next Sunday I am preaching, so I need to get working on my sermon, since I only have 4 days with the internet. Pray for me! Not just that I can write a good sermon, but that my words can touch and move in the hearts of those who will be in attendance during worship.
Goodnight, until we meet again!
I love cream of mushroom soup but that bowl looked like a soup base with smashed Oreo cookies. If it tastes good, close your eyes. That will help!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy it when you sing at church. I imagine they enjoy hearing you, too.
