Happy Fourth of July!

Saturday July 4, 2009

Today really didn’t feel like the Fourth of July. I slept in till 8:30, showered and ate breakfast.

Around 10 or so we left to visit a Victorian house. It was a very beautiful house, but the entry fee was $12! We got a tour of the house and then were free to walk around the grounds. I took lots of pictures and played with the black and white setting.

For lunch we went to a bakery. I had a sausage roll and for dessert, a cheese strudel. We stayed in the car to eat lunch because it was raining, but sat by the beach. It was nice to watch the waves, and the color of the ocean turn when the sun came out. If I lived in Australia, that would be a perfect date spot.

We drove to a party store and then came home. I worked on laundry then went for a walk to the grocery store. Thankfully the rain didn’t start until after I came home.

Jeff and Rosemary went to a birthday party this evening, so I stayed home. I worked most of the time on my pictures and the time capsule. For dinner I had a meat pie and an avocado and mango salad. For dessert I had a lamington cake. Oh boy that was good! I watched Australia’s Funniest Home Videos, but they weren’t as good as AFV. Then I watched the first Harry Potter. That’s about it for my Fourth of July! I’ll be home in a little over a week now!

  1. Your time has passed so quickly even for us here! I imagine its gone much slower for your family.

    Intesting flowers.

    Is that a sink?

Is that jewlery that you took a picture of?

Are you going to make us a lamington cake when you get back.

I saw AFV one night. It was right after your parents baptized 10 people. The AFV video was about a minister that had several people going to be baptized. They all walked into the water and he took their hand to help them. You saw a brief moment and then a kid did a cannon ball into the water. The minister had a funny look on his face and you could hear his parents gasp and everyone else laugh. After a few seconds, the minister said, "In all of my 26 years, I've never had anyone do that. And, it won't happen again." Everyone laughed then.

    See you soon. Ellen
